General information

Sharpening workshop specialised in carpentry, gardening, printing and kitchen utensils.

The profession of sharpener used to be a stall trade and is an ancient craft. The patron saint of sharpeners was St. Catherine of Alexandria.

The grinders travelled from one village to the next, stood on the square or the town's main street corners and made a strong musical sound that carried with the well-known bufacanyes whistle they still carry. They would sometimes also call out such that all the inhabitants of the town would recognise their unique sounds and came out to bring them knives or other cutting tools for sharpening, that is, to make their edge or tip finer. The little tune made by the sharpening machine was an integral part of the atmosphere in countryside and village life and smaller towns of yesteryear.

Although nowadays a throwaway culture is more widespread, we all know that what determines the performance of a tool lies not only in its brand but also in maintenance.

Very well located and with easy parking, you'll find this workshop specialising in all kinds of sharpening. Artisans of the trade since 1940, continuing to preserve their essence while adapting to the environment and current market needs.
